There are many reasons why timing is a crucial thing for newborn photography. First of all, it’s best to photograph newborns during the first 7-21 days of life. This is when they sleep the most, making it more ideal to capture those sweet curled-up sleep poses most people long for.

Newborns grow so fast! There I said it. I know you’ve heard it a million times from every parent on the face of the planet, but it’s true! They all grow up WAY TOO FAST! As a mother myself, I know this to be oh so true. And if I’m being honest, it hurts a little. Ok, a lot! Those tiny fingers and toes, lush eyelashes, squishy rolls, they all go away too fast. Our precious babes start changing what feels like right away! Those first few weeks go by quickly, and we can’t ever get that time back. We don’t get to rewind, so take the opportunity to document all the newness of your little cutie!
