National Pet Day is here!! If you’re a pet owner, and if you are anything like me, every day is pet day for you! I’ve always said, “I want to be my dog!” They truly have the best life. At the moment, we have two dogs. A Belgian Malinois and a Yellow Lab. They are both equally spoiled, but the malinois definitely takes spoiled to the next level.
In honor of National Pet Day, I’m going to share with you our family pets!
Indy- A Belgian Malinois has such a unique personality. She’s got quirks that’s for sure, but she’s constantly making us laugh. She’s a lover of chocolate, and any other human food treat she can get into. But chocolate is by far her favorite. She has her own reclining chair in the living room and she sleeps right between my husband and me in bed. In all honesty, she’d rather sleep on my husband’s pillow, but he kicks her off every night, and let me tell ya, it’s always funny and never gets old watching them fight over the pillow.
Willie- A Yellow Lab who I always say is passive-aggressive, LOL. This is my husband’s dog, and I am thoroughly convinced his whole existence in life nowadays is to drive me insane. He’s roughly 14 years old, we don’t honestly know, but he spends about 22 hours of the day sleeping. The other two hours of the day are him constantly wanting to be let outside over and over again because he forgot he already went out. He has a unique personality as well and is surprisingly smart, yet oh so dumb. lol. He used to be my husband’s narcotics detection dog, but he’s been retired for quite a few years now.
And then there are our chickens. We currently have 19. While some of them will be leaving soon to go live with my brother and his family, that’s our current number. Sometimes I find myself grabbing a glass of wine and going outside and just taking a seat watching these characters. They are so funny to watch, and it is so peaceful.
That’s the extent of our pets and what I have to share about them for National Pet Day. What’s your favorite pet?
