When you’re expecting you’re firstborn your emotions are filled with excitement and anticipation. We are constantly saying, “I can’t wait until you’re here!” No one ever expects to have a premature birth. The reality is, one in every ten women delivers a baby prior to 37 weeks in their pregnancy. Those are pretty large numbers nationwide. Before you know it, your little bundle of joy is here, much before their anticipated arrival. Parents are filled with overwhelming panic and concern. Their lives are drastically changed in an instant. Their precious new baby is here, and well before they are finished growing and ready to say hello to the world.
This was the case for a sweet family friend. When complications arose during the pregnancy little miss Paisley Rose was forced to embrace the world at just 31 weeks 5 days. On January 11, 2018 Paisley made her entrance to the world weighing 3 lbs and 15 inches long. She arrived screaming at everyone in the room, which is one of the best noises in the world to hear when any baby makes their entrance. Instantly, she became a warrior, a fighter, and a miracle. This little lady is resting and growing with each day that passes.
The other day, I was able to spend some time at the hospital and visit Patty (mama). I met Paisley and of course we gave her her very first photo session. She was absolutely precious and won a very special place in my heart! I can’t wait to watch this little miracle grow. I was able to capture some images to document this milestone in Paisley’s life. One that will be remembered forever, but also one that comes with so many emotions. When Patty saw her gallery she told me, “You captured our daily life right now. These pictures tell a thousand words that I can’t even say.” That’s what I do. I tell stories through photos. When words can’t even begin to describe life, I use pictures. One of my favorite parts of the day was that I got to capture Mommy and Paisley’s one on one time. For now, these two get about 2hrs a day to hold each other and remind each other that everything is going to be alright. Seeing Patty hold her precious baby girl melted my heart. These two were so at peace with one another. And at that moment, all was right in the world. Everything else just disappeared and the only thing that existed was the love between these two.
Paisley Rose, we continue to pray for your strength. Each and every day you grow stronger. You’re a rockstar Paisley!
