Sutter Buttes Family Session | The Jarvis Family

I’m frequently asked by my clients for a Sutter Buttes Family Session location. I’m lucky enough to have a great connection and access to a beautiful property directly in the heart of the buttes. But when it comes to bringing families to this beautiful destination everyone wants in the background of their photos it’s not all that easy. At certain times of the year, it’s nearly impossible to shoot here. Ok, not impossible, but extremely unsafe, and I won’t bring my clients here. There’s a large population of rattlesnakes here, so in the warmer months, this beauty is pretty much out of the question for a location.
As soon as the temps start to cool down, you better believe I’m out here a lot! In fact, I just got a phone call last week from the property owner and was informed that there will be hundreds of pounds of wildflower seeds spread on the hills of the property and poppy seeds along the roadway. I’m so stinking excited for spring and these beautiful blooms!
The Jarvis Family and I went out to this beautiful location earlier this fall for their Sutter Buttes Family Session. It happened to be right after some rain, so the natural greenery was starting to pop up. There’s always something super special about extended family sessions. I know these photos are going to hold a special place in hearts for years to come. We had a great time sitting around chatting and catching up while we waited for the sun to tuck behind the mountains for one specific shot! It was definitely worth the wait!
