UC Davis Family Photographer Captures Fun at Arboretum
It’s always a joy to share stories from behind the camera as a Davis Family Photographer, especially when it’s a heartwarming family photoshoot. I recently had the chance to reunite with a wonderful family I hadn’t seen in four years. Our chosen backdrop for this family photography session was the stunning UC Davis Arboretum, a place that would perfectly complement the changing dynamics within this family.
One of the beautiful aspects of my job as a Davis Family Photographer is the privilege of witnessing the passage of time through the growth of families. Children transform, parents evolve, and moments become memories. This photo shoot was a testament to all of that and more.
The Excitement of Reunion
As a Davis Family Photographer, there’s something truly magical about reuniting with clients after a few years. It’s actually funny that this dad was technically my boss at one point! When I was coaching softball at Yuba College, he was (and still is) the Athletic Director.
The UC Davis Arboretum was the perfect setting for this session. Its lush greenery, serene water features, and vibrant tapestry of flowers offered a picturesque backdrop that would capture the essence of this fun family’s connection.
Laughter as the Soundtrack
From the moment we began, there was laughter and joking. The kids, while now one is an adult and the other is almost one herself, were appeasing Mom with their participation and being their goofy selves. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do as a Davis Family Photographer. The authenticity of laughter, the sparkle in their eyes, and the unabashed joy they bring to a photo session – there’s really nothing quite like it.
The laughter continued throughout our time at the Arboretum. We played games, told jokes, and even ventured into a few goofy poses that had us all in splits. It’s not unusual for me to become a bit of a clown during these sessions because, after all, we’re creating memories, and memories are often made up of silly, happy moments.
Comfort, Trust, and Authenticity
A vital part of any successful family photoshoot is creating an atmosphere of comfort and trust. It’s not just about capturing smiles, but also about capturing moments of genuine interaction. The more relaxed and at ease my clients feel, the more authentic and meaningful the photographs become.
This family made my job exceptionally easy as a Davis Family Photographer. They were open, welcoming, and, above all, themselves. I could see the love they had for one another in the little gestures – a reassuring pat on the back, a whispered secret, or a spontaneous family hug. These candid moments are the heart and soul of family photography.
Family Bonding and Authenticity
At the UC Davis Arboretum, we didn’t just take photos; we created an atmosphere for this family to bond. It’s incredible how a photoshoot can not only document but also strengthen the connections within a family. When we relaxed and let loose, we saw the true essence of the family.
We talked about life, shared stories, and exchanged laughter. There’s something remarkable about how the act of taking photos can bring out the best in people, allowing them to express their love, happiness, and genuine selves.
