Winter Onederland Cake Smash | Rocklin Cake Smash Photographer. Evelyn’s mom contacted me about a cake smash session. She didn’t have a specific theme in mind but knew she wanted to be able to get the images back in time for Evelyn’s first birthday party. I sent her images of themes and backdrops I had in the studio and she selected this beautiful winter wonderland setup because Evelyn loves watching the movie Frozen!
On the day of the session, mom brought two dresses that she wanted to incorporate into the Winter Wonderland Cake Smash Session. Both of them turned out to be adorable! Before getting started, Evelyn and I sat on the ground and played with each other. One thing that’s different about the way I do cake smash sessions is that I don’t put a time limit on the session. Each and every child is different and unique. Some need more time than others to adapt to the environment and new people. Evelyn warmed up to me pretty quickly so we capitalized on that and started photographing the session right away.
In typical toddler fashion, Evelyn didn’t want to sit and smile for her photos, so we played, sat in baskets, and had some fun!
As soon as we introduced the cake to Evelyn she dug her hands right in, but then she wasn’t so certain of it. She didn’t really want to try it, but she loved squishing her hands in the frosting. She quickly decided she was done with the cake and we moved on to the bathtub.
This is almost always the baby’s favorite part! They get to splish and splash while we clean up all that messy cake off of them. And the best part, we get adorable photos of it all!
All in all, this Winter Wonderland Cake Smash Session was an absolute success and little Miss Evelyn has adorable photos that she’ll be able to cherish forever, and her mama has these memories documented to look back on and remember just how little sweet Evelyn was because we all know it passes by way too fast!
During this session’s ordering appointment, Evelyn’s mama selected an Heirloom Album and a Mounted Wall Art Print for their home. I designed the album and it’s going to be absolutely beautiful when it arrives!
