Sitting there on the couch, propping those swollen feet up, catching up on some Netflix, and feeling those little kicks and somersaults inside and then your mind drifts off into Instagram land. Before you know it you’re scrolling through photo after photo of newborns. It’s pretty much impossible not to let your mind wander and start thinking about your own session. I’m going to tell you all about helping you plan your newborn session.
Some people have a vision before they ever even know they are pregnant; others find themselves so busy chasing their other children around they haven’t yet had a chance to think about it. No matter what end of the spectrum you’re on, I’m here to help you along the way!
Each of my clients comes in for their consultation/planning appointment. This is where I get to know you and your family, your visual preferences, and your style. We can talk about what you plan to do with your images and brainstorm ideas for your upcoming session. Looking through my large selection of props and selecting the perfect items for your taste. I don’t ever want this process to be overwhelming for you. Typically, through general conversation, I can get a feel for what you’re looking for. Helping you plan your newborn session is exactly what I’m here to do. I’ll guide you through the process, and help select the best props and colors to suit your taste and style. During this meeting, we will go over the products that are offered and discuss what might work best for your home.
I often have clients ask if they need to bring anything to their session. The answer is ‘Nope”. I have all the perfect props and accessories we will need for your little one, and even some for older siblings and mama’s too. As my client closet is always growing, it’s a great idea to check in with me as I may already have something perfect for your entire family. Upon booking my clients are given access to a personalized styling service. After you answer just a few quick questions you can select your entire family’s wardrobe for photos right from the comfort of your own home, and in your pj’s if you wish!
Sometimes clients have a family heirloom or a special little something that they want to include in their session. This is always allowed, but it’s best to let me know ahead of time so I can pull any other props that we may need to go with it for your session. It’s always best if I have time to prepare and plan ahead for what you intend to bring.
About a week after your session we will get together for your gallery reveal. This is by far everyone’s favorite part of the process. We’ll sit down together and you’ll get to see your photos for the first time! This is when you’ll make your selection of the images you just absolutely can’t live without, and we’ll pick the perfect products for you to receive them in. It’s truly a fun and memorable process.
